Just how do you try and represent a vast geographic and cultural region like India in just a few pages? The answer is that you can't. The best you can hope for is a brief glimpse of just how rich and diverse the culture of India really is, and how the world's second largest nation sees its past, present and future.

Inevitably, in researching a subject like this, you stumble across a lot of amazing facts and images which you know will never be used, one of my favourites is the 'Bollywood' elephant.
